Brunei Crown Price Visits ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition


KUALA LUMPUR, Brunei Crown Prince Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah visited the ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition at the National Museum here today on the third day of his official visit to Malaysia.

The Crown Prince, who is also Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, was accompanied by his wife Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah during the tour of the special exhibition held in conjunction with the Installation Ceremony of Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th King of Malaysia on July 20.

During his visit, Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah received a briefing from Malaysian Museums Department director-general Datuk Kamarul Baharin A. Kasim while exploring various exhibits and items related to the Institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Royal Abu Bakar Museum curator Mohd Azlan Hafiz Mohti provided additional insights into the personal collections of Their Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, which are prominently featured in the exhibition.

The ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition, held
in Galleries 1 and 2 from July 26 to Sept 29, features over 272 personal collections and items related to the Institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, as well as personal collections of the King and Queen.

The special exhibition also showcases the federal Royal Regalia and loaned collections from the Office of the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal and the Royal Abu Bakar Museum, Johor.

The Brunei Crown Prince’s visit adds further significance to the enduring and close relationship between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, rooted in common heritage, culture and people-to-people ties, especially as both nations celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year.

In 2023, Brunei was Malaysia’s sixth-largest trading partner among the ASEAN member states, with total trade amounting to US$2.04 billion (RM9.31 billion).
