First Change Of MTBC President In 50 Years As Mohd Najeeb Elected Uncontested


PETALING JAYA, Datuk Mohd Najeeb Abdullah has been officially elected as the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress president, the first change in presidency in 50 years, after he won uncontested during the annual general meeting here today.



Speaking at a media conference after the election, Mohd Najeeb said his greatest challenge would be to raise the performance of the national squad.



‘We have several things planned to create better achievements in the future, and we are convinced that we can nurture more world-class athletes,’ he said.



Former MTBC president Datuk Dr P S Nathan relinquished his post in May after 50 years of being in office.



The remaining members of the leadership team were all retained unopposed, with Amateur Bowling Association of Sarawak (ABAS) president Sunny Si Poh Heng elected as deputy president, the five vice-presidents – national bowling legend Datuk Shalin Zulkifl (central south), Hidzir Ahmad (north), Datuk Shalin Zulkifli (central south), Mazlan Said (central south), Zamzuriadi Shamsuddin (east) and Rozainny Sham Talip (East Malaysia), Choo Yew Kuen as honorary treasurer, and Maradona Chok as secretary.
