10th “Nodojiman” Japanese Song Contest Held in Joyful Atmosphere

The 10th Nodojiman Japanese Song Contest for Japanese language learners in Cambodia took place on July 14, 2019 in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

Organised by the Embassy of Japan at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) during Tanabata Festival (Star Festival) 2019, this Contest was conducted as a school competition and 14 representative individuals or groups from 8 schools or universities competed with each other.

According to the embassy’s press release, Ms. Han Sorphoanmorokot from CJCC won the first prize; Ms. Som Nisophea, Ms. Leng Thary, Ms. Choung Sambathsundy from the Department of Japanese Language, Royal University of Phnom Penh, got the second prize; while Ms. Mom Kristinna of Hifumi Japanese Language School was the third prize winner and Ms. Han Sreynet of the Department of Japanese Language, the Special Jury’s prize winner.

The first prize winner was awarded with a trophy, a certificate, a laptop PC and a handbag; the second winner received a certificate, a tablet and a handbag; the third winner obtained a certificate, a tablet and a handbag; and the Special Jury’s prize winner got a certificate, a wireless speaker and a Japanese character doll.

Nodojiman Japanese song contest has been organised as an annual event for the purpose of encouraging Japanese language learners to enjoy practicing the language through singing Japanese songs.
