12 Cambodian Students Invited to Visit Japan

Twelve (12) Cambodian university/graduate school students are going to visit Japan from Feb. 18 to 26, 2019, according to a press release from Japanese Embassy in Phnom Penh.

They will join the visit with university/graduate school students of other ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2018.

The participants will be divided into six groups according to themes (Agriculture, Energy, Community Designing, Health, Gender, and Elderly Employment), attend lectures by specialists of each theme, and visit theme-related facilities with Japanese university/graduate school students. They will also participate in workshops and experience Japanese culture.

The JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan and participating countries and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation. Through the programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited more than 2,000 Cambodian youths since 2007.

It is expected that the participants will deepen their understanding of Japan and after coming back, share their experience widely with the people in Cambodia.
