15 Cambodian Youths To Visit Japan Next Week

A group of 15 Cambodian youths are going to visit Japan next week with youths from other ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste and India, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2016, said a press release of the Embassy of Japan issued this morning.

During their stay in Japan from April 17 to 25, it pointed out, the participants will be briefed about Japanese transportation system by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Tourism of Japan in Tokyo and they will move to Miyagi Prefecture by Shinkansen (a high speed railway) in order to participate in exchange programmes with a Japanese company and institutions related to the theme of "Transportation System".

They will also have opportunity to learn the effort of reconstruction of a railway damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, it added.

According to the same source, the JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan and participating countries and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation. Through the programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited more than 2,000 Cambodian youths since 2007.

It is expected that the participants will deepen their understanding of Japan and after coming back, share their experience widely with the people in Cambodia.
