2016: Japan’s Investment Volume Reaches US$822 Million

Japan’s total investment in Cambodia was valued at some US$822 million in 2016, the highest amount compared to that in the previous years.

The figure was shared by H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), during a recent meeting here with visiting H.E. Nobuo Kishi, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

During the meeting, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea highlighted some of the current Japanese investment projects in Cambodia, including AEON Mall, Mizuho Bank, direct flights operated by All Nippon Airways without counting many Japanese restaurants and shops.

In reply, H.E. Nobuo Kishi highly valued Cambodia for her rapid economic growth and thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia and CDC for having facilitated Japanese investors in Cambodia.
