2017 Scholarship to New Zealand Announced

Government of New Zealand yesterday officially announced its scholarship for government officials, students and staff at private companies in Cambodia to study at universities in the country.

According to a press release issued by New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards (NZAS), the 2017 scholarship awards include the studies for postgraduate diploma, master degree and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Interested applicants can pursue various disciplines ranging from Agricultural Development to Tourism, Disaster Risk Management, Renewable Energy, Public Management and English Teaching.

Ambassador of New Zealand to Cambodia H.E. Ben King was quoted in the release saying that the scholarships aimed to equip individuals with knowledge, skills and qualifications in order to contribute to social and economic development in their countries.

In the same source, the Cambodia Country Director at IDP Education Mr. Mao Sreng underlined that about 100 to 120 Cambodian students go to study in New Zealand annually through scholarship programme and personal financing.

As presented on its website, the New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards is a full-time postgraduate scholarship available for candidates from selected ASEAN nations. It is funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme.
