Khan Jessa Wins American National IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2021

Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu heroine, Khan Jessa, claimed a gold medal at the American National IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2021, held from June 24 to 26 at Las Vegas, according to Cambodia SEA GAMES 2023’s Facebook page.
More than 4,000 athletes participated in the championship, a largest annual sport event, the source added.
The Cambodian-Mexican American athlete expressed her delight for having won another gold medal, adding that she looks forward to come to Cambodia for the SEA Games in Vietnam later this year.
Khan Jessa, 19, has got many world titles in the past few years. She is also Cambodia’s gold medalist of Asian Games 2018 and ASEAN Games 2019.

COVID-19: Daily Cases Reach Over 800; Tally 47,649

There are 839 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia this morning; the tally thus rose to 47,649.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, among the new infections, 76 are imported and the rest are locally transmitted cases connected to the Feb. 20 outbreak.
At the same time, Cambodia recorded 718 new recoveries; the total recovered cases reached 42,157.
Besides, COVID-19 pandemic killed 17 more people; the death toll now jumped to 540.
The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
