Chestertons Polo in the Park is Europe’s largest three-day polo and lifestyle event with action-packed polo games, food festivals, luxury shopping, entertainment, and more. As the Official Apparel and Jersey Partner, U.S. Polo Assn. provided custom performance jerseys and staff uniforms, as well as an on-site merchandise tent for event attendees to shop. The multi-billion-dollar global sport brand also provided guests with a polo-inspired photo station and interactive models, alongside contests and cap giveaways.

Event attendees were met with daily themes for the three-day polo event, which started with International Day on Friday, with the USA facing England to kick off the action-packed weekend. After hard-fought chukkers, the score ended up tied at 5-5, transitioning the game to a rundown, a head-to-head match-up where one player from each team hits the ball to the opposite goal, and ultimately England was victorious. Each team was comprised of well-recognized players, including Nina Clarkin on the England Team, and U.S. Polo Assn.’s global brand ambassador Nico Escobar on the USA Team. The sports brand also proudly presented the MVP Awards throughout the weekend, starting with Nico Escobar on the USA Team and Patrick O’Dwyer on Team London. The remainder of the weekend included the themes of Ladies’ Day on Saturday and Finals and Family Day on Sunday.

"U.S. Polo Assn.’s sponsorship of Chestertons Polo in the Park was a wonderful way for our brand to engage with consumers and sports fans that demonstrates our authentic connection to the sport of polo," said J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global, the company which manages and markets the global U.S. Polo Assn. brand. "As one of our fastest-growing and most important markets, it’s vital for U.S. Polo Assn. to reach U.K. consumers and sports fans in new ways, such as participating in massive global events like Chestertons Polo in the Park to build brand and sport recognition."

The sport of polo was first played at Hurlingham Park in 1874 and has since hosted many historic games, such as the 1908 Olympic Polo Final and many matches of the prestigious Westchester Cup between England and the United States from 1910-1939. Currently, the Chestertons Polo in the Park event is one of the world’s largest polo festivals and has the distinction of being the only polo event hosted in downtown London.

"As the official partner of U.S. Polo Assn. in the U.K., Chestertons Polo in the Park was an amazing opportunity to showcase the authenticity of our brand in connection to English polo for consumers in our market," said Boo Jalil, CEO of Brand Machine Group, the U.K. partner for the global, multi-billion-dollar U.S. Polo Assn. brand. "We have recently opened two new U.S. Polo Assn. stores, with plans for more brick-and-mortar locations throughout the U.K. We also offer customers the opportunity to shop via our website www.uspoloassn.co.uk."

U.S. Polo Assn. has stores at McArthurGlen’s East Midlands and Cheshire Oaks facilities, where both locations feature the latest men’s, women’s, and kids’ collections from the global, sport-inspired brand with additional store openings planned across the United Kingdom.

"Thank you to U.S. Polo Assn. for being a tremendous partner for Chestertons Polo in the Park," said Rory Heron, Managing Director of Sportgate International, the global event management company that organized Chestertons Polo in the Park. MEDEVAC OP FLIES TWO ORANG ASLI PATIENTS TO GUA MUSANG HOSPITAL

GUA MUSANG, The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Air Unit conducted a medical evacuation (Medevac) operation yesterday, flying two Orang Asli patients from Pos Balar and Pos Bihai to the Gua Musang Hospital for treatment.

KEDAH MB’S REMARKS ON PENANG WATER ISSUE INFLAMMATORY, RACIALLY CHARGED – FAHMI

PUTRAJAYA, The statement by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor regarding the water issue in Penang is inflammatory and racially charged, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.

Fahmi, who is also the spokesperson for the Unity Government, said Sanusi frequently speaks without factual basis and spreads misinformation.

‘He opens his mouth and lies. This behaviour is highly unbecoming of a Menteri Besar,’ he told the media after the Cabinet meeting today.

At the launch of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) machinery for the Sungai Bakap by-election last Saturday, Sanusi claimed that the water issues in the area remained unresolved due to discrimination by the Penang government.

‘Why is there no water in this area (Sungai Bakap), but there is water in Tanjung (George Town)? This is an area of Tok Lebais (PAS supporters),’ Sanusi was quoted as saying by the media.

Fahmi said Sanusi frequently makes unfounded statements, citing another example regarding the election victory of Education Ministe
r Fadhlina Sidek, who is also the Nibong Tebal MP.

‘On stage, he (Sanusi) claimed that the Education Minister, Nibong Tebal MP Fadhlina Sidek, won by 100 votes, but a quick Google search shows that Fadhlina Sidek won with a majority of 16,000 votes.

‘So, if he fails on such basic facts, how can he manage state administration properly? He also announces many private projects, and when these projects do not proceed, he says it’s not his problem. He’s very problematic,’ said Fahmi.

MELAKA GOVT FINE-TUNING ASSISTANCE FOR AFFECTED MUSSEL BREEDERS, FISHERMEN – EXCO

ALOR GAJAH, The Melaka government is fine-tuning the form of assistance to be channelled to mussel breeders and fishermen, especially those affected by the ban on the sale of bivalves since April.

State Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security Committee chairman Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said that previously there was assistance which had been channelled to affected breeders by the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM).

‘Affected mussel breeders and fishermen can contact us… we are indeed working on something (to help), but not in a large amount.

‘As for the fishermen, it cannot be said that they are completely affected, because they can still catch fish, prawns and other seafood except bivalves,’ he told reporters, after the fishermen’s house key handover ceremony, officiated by Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, here, today .

Yesterday, the media reported that more than 30 mussel breeders and fishermen at the Pengkalan Sebatu fishing jetty, in Jasin, suffered huge losses becaus
e they have been unable to sell hundreds of thousands of kilogrammes of mussels for the past three months.

He also hoped that mussel fishermen and breeders would be patient, as the ban on the sale of bivalve involves health issues and the authorities are constantly monitoring the current development of water and mussel samples in the state waters, which are still contaminated with dangerous biotoxins.

He said that the samples are collected every week by the Fisheries Department, and the analysis data can be obtained from the department.

‘We have taken samples for the 10th week, and the toxin readings are getting lower, but it is still not safe for consumption. We hope that, within this month, the ban can be lifted after the analysis found that Melaka waters are completely free of biotoxin pollution,’ he said.

Earlier, at the event, as many as 36 out of 60 fishermen received house keys under the Kuala Sungai Baru Ilir Fishermen Resettlement project, involving an allocation of RM8.9 million.

The project, i
nvolving the construction of 60 housing units on 5.6 hectares of land, developed under the allocation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), was started in 2014, but was delayed before it was successfully completed and handed over to the recipients today.
