SUPER LEAGUE: KL CITY FC THRASH NSFC 3-0

SEREMBAN, Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) suffered their third consecutive defeat, losing 0-3 to Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC) in the Super League match at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, tonight.

In a first half where both teams struggled to find the net, KL City FC finally broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a precise header from national player Brendan Gan.

The City Boys led by Croatian head coach Miroslav Kuljanac were in control of the match, but five minutes before the break, NSFC came close to equalising with a header by defender Dzulfahmi Abdul Hadi from a well-executed pass by Senegalese import player Jaque Faye.

The night got worse for NSFC as Faye received a red card for a tackle on Ryan Edward Lambert in the 51st minute, a decision confirmed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

With the numerical advantage, KL City FC continued to dominate, creating several clear opportunities that were well-handled by NSFC goalkeeper Muhamad Aqil Abdul Razak.

KL City FC doubled their lead in t
he 72nd minute with a powerful left-footed strike by captain Paulo Josue, while S. Sharvin sealed the victory in the 90th minute, heading in a corner kick from Brendan.

The defeat leaves NSFC rooted to the bottom of the league. They next face Sri Pahang on July 13, while KL City FC will play against Selangor on July 14.

SERDANG, National gymnast Muhammad Sharul Aimy Kamaru Hisam is still uncertain about participating in the national gymnastics championships scheduled for June 29-30.

According to the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games bronze medallist, he is not yet fully fit as he is still plagued by an ankle injury that he has been dealing with since last year.
