22 Cambodian Youths Visit Japanese

Twenty-two (22) Cambodian youths have been on a visit in Japan from Jan. 29 to Feb. 7 with youths from other ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste and India, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2016.

According to a press release of the Japanese Embassy, after visiting Tokyo, the participants will visit Kumamoto prefecture which is recovering from the damage caused by a big earthquake in April 2016, or Chubu or Kansai area to participate in exchange programmes with various institutions and private companies. They will also have opportunities to visit historical landmarks like a castle and to take part in a school exchange programme.

The JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan and participating countries and regions and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, said the same source, pointing out that through the programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has invited more than 2,000 Cambodian youths since 2007.
