22 Role Model Resorts Recognised

Ministry of Tourism has officially recognised 22 role model resorts in Cambodia � an exercise aimed to promote quality tourism products and services in the country.

Addressing a recent best resort recognition workshop, Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon underlined that the effort to ensure clean city, clean resort and good service of the wonder Kingdom of Cambodia will consequently bring about warm hospitality for those visiting the country.

First-ever of its kind, according to Mr. Phok Chumnor � the ministry’s Director of Tourism Product Development Department, the winning resorts were determined by their outstanding fulfillment of ten criteria.

The 22 winning resorts are located in 16 capital and provinces: Phnom Penh, Battambang, Oddar Meanchey, Kampong Speu, Stung Treng, Kampong Thom, Mondulkiri, Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, Rattanakiri, Kandal, Siem Reap and Kratie.

Ministry of Tourism’s record indicates that Cambodia now has almost 400 resorts formally registered at the ministry.
