31st SEA Games: Cambodia Earns 14 Medals

As of May 15 evening, Cambodia received in total 14 medals, of which 1 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze, at the ongoing 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, according to the Medal Table released yesterday by Cambodia 2023 Facebook page.

The gold medal was earned by kickboxer Toch Rachhan after defeating his Thai counterpart in the 57 kg category. The other medals were won in kickboxing, petanque, Wushu, ju-jitsu, M2X Rowing, and so on.

The Kingdom thus ranked 8th among the 11 Southeast Asian countries participating in this regional sporting event which officially kicked off on May 12 and will run through till May 23.

The host country, Vietnam topped the list with 155 medals, including 66 gold, followed by Thailand with 92 medals (26 gold), and the Philippines with 84 medals (20 gold).

Timor-Leste was ranked at the bottom with a silver medal.

Cambodia has sent 363 athletes (126 female) to compete in 33 of 40 types of sports in the 31st SEA Games 2022.

All Cambodian athletes are training hard not only to win the SEA Games in Vietnam, but also to succeed the following round to be hosted by Cambodia in 2023.
