8th “Nodojiman” Japanese Song Contest Concluded

The 8th Nodojiman Japanese Song Contest for Japanese language learners in Cambodia organised by the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh, in collaboration with the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) was concluded last Sunday with 8 winners.

According to a press release of the Embassy of Japan AKP received yesterday, the 8 winners are among the 16 finalists selected from the auditions in Phnom Penh capital and Siem Reap province with the participation of 185 contestants.

The first winner is Ms. Chhoun Sokunnary, while the two runners up are Mr. Kiry Sanya and Mr. Kun Pros. Besides, there are five other contestants who won special awards.

The first prize winner of the contest was awarded a trophy and a certificate, a laptop computer, whereas the second and third prize winners received each a certificate and a laptop computer.

Nodojiman Japanese song contest has been organised as an annual event for the purpose of encouraging Japanese language students to enjoy practicing the language through singing Japanese songs. It is expected that, through this event, understanding of Japanese culture and language among Cambodian students is further promoted.
