A Group of Thai Businessmen Learn about Trade Environment and Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

A visiting delegation of Thai Business Council has been on a visit in Cambodia to study trade environment and investment opportunities in Cambodia.

On Aug. 7 in Phnom Penh, the delegation of Thai businessmen from 20 companies specialising in electronics, beverage, medical equipment, cosmetics, food, agricultural products, construction, etc., led by Ms. Doungjai Chanthon, Chairwoman of sub-committee on border and cross-border trade for Cambodia and Vietnam of Thai Business Council, was received by H.E. Sok Sopheak, Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerce.

According to the Ministry of Commerce’s news release, H.E. Sok Sopheak briefed his guests on the progress of good cooperation between the two governments which were committed to boost the two-way trade up to US$15 billion by 2020 and laid stress on the Royal Government of Cambodia’s open policy toward all investors without discrimination.

On the occasion, H.E. Under Secretary of State requested the Thai side to speed up the signing of MoUs related to goods exchange and cross-border transport.

in reply, the Thai side pledged to bring the Cambodian request to the Thai concerned institutions and ministries.
