A Metal Tray Found at Angkor Wat Temple

A metal tray has been found buried in the ground between the terrace and the library at the south of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province.
The news was shared recently by Mr. Chhuok Somala, official in charge of Tangible Heritage Registration at the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology of the APSARA National Authority.
The metal tray is, continued Mr. Chhuok Somala, 62 centimetres in diametre, 3 centimetres deep, the bottom is round and the surface is slightly flattened, with a little curved tip around it.
“There are no decorations or letters on the tray that allow us to determine the exact age of the tray,” he added.
The inventory team of the Department of the Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archeology has now temporarily kept the tray at the authority’s headquarters to register and identify this artifact first before technically cleaning and restoring it.
