A New Limnology Laboratory Inaugurated

The Inland Fisheries Research and Development Institute (IFReDI) of the Fisheries Administration in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has inaugurated a new limnology laboratory to study freshwater ecosystems.

The inauguration ceremony took place here recently under the presidency of H.E. Has Sareth, Cambodian Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and H.E. Patrick Murphy, U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia.

Located in IFReDI, the new limnology has state-of-the-art equipment to study and understand freshwater ecosystems, said USAID Cambodia in a news release.

This lab will provide critical data to help protect the health of fish, wildlife, and people who depend on Cambodia’s aquatic resources, the source underlined.
