A Number of Documents to Be Signed during Malaysian PM’s Visit in Cambodia

A number of cooperation documents will be inked during the visit of H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, and spouse to Cambodia next week, from Sept. 2 to 4.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this morning, the signing ceremony will take place after the bilateral meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, followed by a joint press announcement.

Various aspects of bilateral cooperation will be discussed by the two Premiers during the bilateral talks, along with the exchange of views on regional and international matters of common interest, it added.

Besides, it continued, H.E. Prime Minister of Malaysia will pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly.

While staying in Phnom Penh, H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will lay wreathes at the Independence Monument and pay tribute at the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh, the Late King-Father of Cambodia, the same source said.

The official visit of H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to Cambodia will significantly contribute to further strengthening and deepening the excellent bonds of friendship and close cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia in bilateral, regional and international frameworks, underlined the press release.
