Acting Minister of Economy and Finance Receives ADB Senior Official

H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Acting Minister of Economy and Finance, has received visiting Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam, Director General of Southeast Asian Regional Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB), according to an update from the ministry.

Taking place yesterday here in Phnom Penh, the meeting focuses on cooperation between Cambodia and ADB, especially on Country Partnership Strategic for Cambodia 2019-2023.

H.E. Vongsey Vissoth underlined the efforts in promoting and ensuring effectiveness of implementation of financing projects of development partners, adding that the ministry is working closely with concerned institutions in strengthening capacity of Project Management Unit and improving framework of Project Readiness Filter.

The acting minister asked ADB to consider supporting the ministry in preparation of investment framework for development of some sectors such as power, finance and skills, and increasing its financing size as well as providing technical assistance on Project Readiness, procurement, and social protection principle.

From his part, Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam welcomed the requests and encouraged the Cambodian side to raise them during the upcoming 52th annual meeting of ADB.

Both sides also discussed urgent preparation of urban planning and master plan of city investment.
