Alerts Continue as Lightning and Thunderstorms Cause Deaths and Injuries

Royal Government of Cambodia continues to issue public alerts for lightning and thunderstorms as the incidents has so far claimed 36 lives and injured 132 others this year.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has been issuing instructions for the public to get themselves safe when seeing the signal of potential lightning and thunderstorm while Cambodia is undergoing extreme climate change affects.

According to the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), in addition to human deaths and injuries, the lightning and thunderstorms killed 23 cattle and caused house damages.

As scientifically predicted, uneven rainfalls, thunderstorms and lightning continue this week.
