Almost 20,000 Cambodian People Attend Khmer New Year Celebration in S. Korea

Nearly 20,000 Cambodian people living, working and studying in the Republic of Korea (RoK) enjoyed the Khmer Traditional New Year celebration held at Manseok Park in RoK's Suwon city, on April 16.

This was the first time that the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in RoK organised such event, said yesterday H.E. Heng Sour, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, who presided over the event, conveyed greetings and New Year wishes from Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen to the Cambodian people in South Korea.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has been following up closely the situation in the Korean peninsula and has set forth necessary strategy to ensure safety for the Cambodian people there, affirmed H.E. Minister.

The Cambodian people celebrated this year, from Apr. 14 to 16, their traditional New Year.
