Anastasiades-Tsipras meeting, in Lisbon, focuses on security and guarantees

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades briefed today Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on recent developments in efforts to solve the Cyprus problem, focusing on security concerns and the issue of guarantees.

Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides, in a written statement on the Presidents contacts in Lisbon, said the two men met this morning on the sidelines of the Summit Conference of the European countries of the Mediterranean (Med Group) in Lisbon.

"At the meeting, President Anastasiades briefed the Greek Prime Minister on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and they exchanged views with regard to the present state of affairs in the talks, with particular emphasis on issues that relate to the Chapter on Security and Guarantees, as well as on the unacceptable Turkish demand for granting, in the framework of a solution to the Cyprus.
