Angkor Resort Earns Some US$18 Million in First Five Months

Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province earned only US$18 million from the entrance ticket sales in the first five months of this year.
The update was shared by the Angkor Enterprise, the state-owned institution in charge of Angkor income management, in a press release made public on June 1.
The income shows a sharp decrease of 64.18 percent compared to the same period last year, it underlined.
The tickets were sold to 386.093 foreign tourists, down 65,46 percent, said the press release, adding that of the income, more than US$772.186 were donated to Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation to support the humanitarian activities of Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals.
Cambodia’s tourism sector, like that of other countries around the world, has been being seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
