Another Mekong Dolphin Born in Kratie Province

Mekong River dolphin has delivered a baby dolphin aged about seven days now, according to wildlife conservation organisation World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The new-born baby dolphin was spotted late last week in Kampi pool in Sambok commune, Chetra Borey district of Kratie province.

This new baby dolphin is the sixth one recorded during the first four months of 2019.

The new calf reflects positive result of joint efforts in conserving freshwater dolphin between WWF Cambodia and conservation partners such as the Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Tourism, fisheries communities, tourism agencies, authorities at provincial, district, and commune level, and beyond.
