APF Cooperation and Development Committee Meeting Wrapped Up with Success

The meeting of the Cooperation and Development Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) hosted by the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia was concluded yesterday evening with success, after a full day of discussions.

According to an NA's news release, the meeting discussed topics such as poverty, anti-corruption, unemployment, food waste, and use of digital technology.

H.E. Dr. Pen Panha, Chairman of Cambodian NA Commission on Legislation and Justice and Head of the Cambodian Parliamentary Group for APF, who presided over the meeting's opening ceremony, highlighted the Kingdom's political stability, peace, and strong economic growth of around 7 percent over the past decade, as well as the good relations with other countries, including the APF member countries.

He added that investment was one of the most important factors for development and that without support from the international community, including the APF member countries, and many foreign investors, Cambodia would not have recovered from the post-conflict turmoil this fast.

H.E. Ms. Angelique Ngoma, Chairwoman of Cooperation and Development Committee of APF, thanked Cambodia for organising the meeting and underlined the country's highly responsible participation in the APF.

At the gala dinner hosted by H.E. Dr. Pen Panha in honour of the participating delegates, four Cambodian dignitaries - H.E. Dr. Pen Panha; H.E. Mrs. Ty Borasy, Chairwoman of Senate Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Propaganda and Information; H.E. Dr. Khim Chhun Ie, Advisor to Cambodian Parliamentary Group for APF; and H.E. Heng Ratha, Head of Cambodian Parliamentary Group for APF's Secretariat - received decorations from APF in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the APF's work.
