ASEAN, China Discuss Cooperation on Development

The ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting, held in Phnom Penh on Aug. 4, discussed the strengthening and broadening of cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks, especially the development in the region and the globe.

At a press conference here yesterday evening, H.E. Kung Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Spokesperson for the 55th AMM and Related Meetings, the meeting approved the Annex to the ASEAN-China Action Plan 2021-2025 to closely promote comprehensive strategic partnership between ASEAN-China.

The meeting exchanged views on food security, digital economy, energy, relations, regional cooperation and other regional and international issues of common interest, underlined the spokesperson.

The meeting also boosted the economic integration between ASEAN and China for the benefit of people, and people-to-people connectivity by providing scholarships and promoting education and cultural activities, the spokesperson added.
