Australia has expressed its congratulations to the Cambodian people on the 69th Anniversary of the National Independence Day.
“Today is a special day for Cambodia as the country is celebrating its 69th Independence Day,” the Australian Embassy in Cambodia said in a statement this afternoon.
H.E. Pablo Kang, Australian Ambassador to Cambodia was honoured to attend the official ceremony this morning and conveyed Australia’s congratulations to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, the embassy added.
This year, Australia is marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Cambodia.
“We look forward to welcoming Prime Minister the Hon Anthony Albanese MP later this week to Phnom Penh for the ASEAN and East Asia Summits,” the Embassy pointed out.
Cambodia today marks the 69th anniversary of national independence from France (Nov. 9, 1953 – Nov. 9, 2022).
