Australia Supports GCNP to Develop Local Security Plan in Four Capital and Provinces

Cambodia's General Commissariat of National Police (GCNP) is developing a comprehensive security plan in four capital and provinces - thanks to funding support from the Government of Australia.

According to H.E. Keat Chantharith, Spokesperson for the GCNP, the Government of Australia has funded his commissariat with an amount of over US$4 million.

The financing, he added, will be used to develop a comprehensive plan to promote local security in order to further build trust on the authorities among community people.

The plan will be carried out in four capital and provinces, namely Phnom Penh, Battambang, Kratie and Prey Veng.

It will cover key security issues ranging from illicit drug suppression and gambling intervention to prevention of violence against children and women.
