Banteay Meanchey and Yunnan Provinces Enter Technical Agricultural Cooperation

Cambodia's Banteay Meanchey province and China's Yunnan province have continued scientific and technical agricultural cooperation project toward sustainable development.

The project that runs from 2018 to 2022, was signed recently in Banteay Meanchey by Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Mr. Pang Vannaseth and visiting Yunnan Provincial Agriculture Department's delegate Mr. Cui Jingfu.

According to Banteay Meanchey Provincial Governor H.E. Suon Bovor who presided over the signing ceremony, it is the second-phase of the project.

Yunnan province funded an amount of over US$3 million for the project's first phase, lasting from 2013-2016.

Inspired by China's initiative of 'One Belt, One Road', the inked phase-2 project focuses mainly on capacitation of agricultural experts, agricultural community leaders, farmers and students from Cambodia's Universities of Meanchey and Battambang, and Yunnan Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture.
