Belarus to Boost Investment in Four Sectors in Cambodia

The Republic of Belarus will continue to support Cambodian's agriculture, industry, health and technology through its investments in the Kingdom.

The affirmation was made by H.E. Gennady Svidersky, First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, while he and H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, were co-chairing the opening ceremony of the 3rd Session of Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Cambodia and Belarus.

Taking place at Sokha Siem Reap Hotel late last week, the session primarily aims to examine work progress and find solutions for challenge issues to increase trade volume and strengthen economic cooperation of both countries

On the occasion, Belarus also pledged to support Cambodia in boosting knowledge transfer and high technology to reduce skill gaps as well as support development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Pan Sorasak lauded good cooperation in economy and trade between Cambodia and Belarus, including diversification of job creation and economic growth.

The minister highlighted progress and development of economic growth of Cambodia and effort of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) in facilitating investment from Belarus.

H.E. Pan Sorasak also suggested further discussion about detailed cooperation in agriculture, technology, industry, tourism and education among technical teams of the two countries.

The 2nd Session of Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Cambodia and Belarus was held in Minsk, Belarus on June 2017.
