Phnom Penh: Cambodia and China have mutually appreciated the progress in their military cooperation and vowed to further foster it. The appreciation was underscored during a farewell meeting between Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen and outgoing Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Special Colonel Tang Hao, on December 4.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen spoke highly of Special Colonel Tang Hao’s contribution to enhancing the ties of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between both countries’ armies. He thanked the Chinese People’s Liberation Army for the cooperation with Cambodia in areas such as human resources training, visit exchanges, equipment provision, infrastructure building, and the organisation of joint military exercises.
The RCAF commander-in-chief recalled China’s active contribution to the peace-seeking and socio-economic development of Cambodia, as well as her assistance during the COVID-19 spread.
In response, Special Colonel Tang Hao expressed gratitude to the RCAF for its cooperation, which was pivotal for the success of his mission over the past three years.
Special Colonel Tang Hao emphasized the Chinese leadership’s stance on the iron-clad friendship with Cambodia and the commitment to collaborate with the Cambodian side to build a community with a shared future in the new era. This collaboration aims to be of high quality, high level, and high standard, further solidifying the bilateral military relationship.
