Cambodia and India Aim to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation


Phnom Penh: Cambodia and India have reaffirmed their strong bilateral relationship and expressed intentions to further enhance cooperation for mutual benefits. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, the newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Cambodia, shared this perspective during a meeting at the Peace Palace.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Indian Ambassador underscored India’s commitment to Cambodia as a crucial partner, emphasizing the decades of collaboration and the consistent growth of cooperation across various sectors.



Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of India for their support in Cambodia’s socio-economic development, particularly in human resource development. He is optimistic that Ambassador Bawitlung’s role will further strengthen and expand the cooperation between the two nations.



During their discussions, Samdech Thipadei and H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung identified potential areas for expanding cooperation, including economy, trade, investment, national defense and security, tourism, and culture. They also considered the possibility of increasing direct flights between the two countries and enhancing people-to-people and business-to-business connectivity.



The Prime Minister encouraged the Indian Ambassador to establish close contacts and collaboration with Cambodian ministries and institutions to further promote bilateral cooperation.
