Cambodia and JICA Discuss Cooperation on Environment Sector

Cambodia and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have recently discussed cooperation on environment sector.
The discussion took place between H.E. Say Sam Al, Cambodian Minister of Environment and Ms. Kamei Haruko, Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia Office, at the ministry office in Phnom Penh last week.
According to a news release of JICA issued yesterday, during the meeting, both sides confirmed continuous cooperation, exchanged information and discussed JICA’s cooperation on environment sector especially on environmental protection, waste management and natural resource management with sustainable development.
Currently, JICA is implementing a Technical Cooperation Project with the Ministry of Environment, “The Project for National & Sub-National Capacity Development for Sustainable Natural Resources (2020-2023)” which aims to reduce deforestation and forest degradation through formulating and implementing policies and key measures for protected area and sustainable forest management.
