Cambodia Asks France to Support Import of the Kingdom’s Rice to EU

Cambodia has asked France to reconsider its stand in locking import of Cambodian rice into the European Union.

H.E. Hor Namhong, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, conveyed the request to visiting Vice President of France's National Assembly H.E. Sylvian Waserman during their yesterday's meeting here in Phnom Penh.

In terms of quality, the deputy prime minister highlighted, Cambodian rice has been recognised internationally and earned various world awards.

H.E. Hor Namhong, at the same time, acknowledged a wide range of France's contribution to the development of Cambodia.

Sharing close historical and contemporary tie with Cambodia, it is expected that France will reconsider its stand and support import of Cambodia's rice to the EU markets.
