Cambodia Asks Vietnam to Share Experience in Hosting ASEP and ASEM

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia has requested Vietnam to share experience in hosting Asia-Europe Parliamentary Meeting (ASEP) and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) as the Kingdom will host these important events in 2020.

According to a news release of Cambodian NA, the request was made by H.E. Ms. KhuonSudary, Second NA Vice President, while holding a bilateral talk with H.E. Ms. Tong ThiPhong, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnamese NA, in Hanoi, Vietnam this morning.

H.E. Ms. KhuonSudary, also Vice Chairwoman of Women Parliamentarians of Cambodia, informed H.E. Ms. Tong ThiPhong of the purpose of her official visit which was to strengthen and expand the ties of friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam, especially the legislative bodies of both countries, including the above said request.

The Cambodian NA second vice president also mentioned about bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam in the past, and the current progress in their relations, which contributes to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

For her part, H.E. Tong ThiPhong congratulated and spoke highly of the successful organisation of the 6th parliamentary elections and of the 27th Annual Meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27) early this year.

H.E. Tong ThiPhong underlined the important cooperation of Cambodian-Vietnamese women parliamentarians of both countries and the Vietnamese side is planning to organise official visit or workshop of women parliamentarians for both countries to share experience and strengthen friendship and cooperation.
