Cambodia Attracts Almost 460,000 Domestic Visitors Last Weekend

A total of 456,334 domestic tourists were registered over the weekend, from Jan. 7 to 9, Tourism Minister H.E. Thong Khon pointed out.
The figure shows an increase of almost 185.28 percent compared to the same period last year, the minister added.
Among the domestic visitors, 443,378 were national tourists and 12,956 were foreign tourists, he said, underlining that for the January 7 Victory Day’s holiday only, there were nearly 160,000 tourists.
The most visited tourist destination was Phnom Penh capital, followed by the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Siem Reap, Pursat, Battambang and Kampot.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Departments continued to promote the strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced by the ministry to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19.
