Cambodia Attracts Almost 650,000 Foreign Visitors in January

During the first month of this year, a total of 647,206 international tourists from more than 100 countries around the world visited Cambodia, up 8.5 percent compared to the same period the previous year, according to the Ministry of Tourism's report AKP received yesterday.

China topped the list of foreign arrivals in Cambodia with 182,449 visitors, up 19.1 percent; followed by Vietnam with 63,493, up 1.3 percent; Laos with 62,134, up 47,6 percent; Thailand with 44.087, up 32,5 percent; Korea with 41,364, down 18.2 percent, it added.

In the same period, the number of Cambodian outbound travellers was recorded at 154,301, up 5 percent, the report pointed out.

Last year, Cambodia attracted some 6.2 million international visitors and this year, the Kingdom is expected to welcome around 6.6 million tourists.
