Cambodia Calls for Argentinian Investors

AKP Phnom Penh, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia H.E. Pan Sorasak has asked a senior Argentinian official to encourage Argentinian investors and businessmen to Cambodia.

According to the ministry's news release, H.E. Pan Sorasak made the request during a recent bilateral meeting with H.E. Ms. Susana Malcorra, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Chair of the Eleventh WTO Ministerial Conference (MC11), on the sidelines of the MC11 held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from Dec. 10 to 13, 2017.

On the occasion, the Cambodian commerce minister urged H.E. Ms. Susana Malcorra to help convince Asian-based Argentinian investors and businessmen to build trade links with Cambodia.

H.E. Pan Sorasak briefed his guest on Cambodia's economic and investment potential by highlighting the country's better investment environment and favourable geographical location for regional trade.

He also raised the need to boost the bilateral trade exchange between the two countries which reached now some US$27 million, and to attract more Argentinian visitors to Cambodia from the current 10,000.

For her part, H.E. Ms. Susana Malcorra pledged to bring Cambodia's request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other relevant ministries and institutions.
