Cambodia Calls on ASEAN Members to Create More Tourism Products

Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon has appealed to all ASEAN member countries to create more tourism products and expand more direct flight connections so as to attract more tourists to the bloc.

The minister made the appeal this morning while presiding over the opening ceremony of the 50th Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organisations (ASEAN NTOs) being hosted by Cambodia in Siem Reap provincial city from July 10 to 12.

H.E. Thong Khon also called for cooperation from all ASEAN member countries to solve common challenges and to boost intra-ASEAN travel in order to reach the annual growth of 4 percent on average.

Moreover, ASEAN food tourism standard was raised on the occasion by the Cambodian tourism minister.

According to the latest figures of the Ministry of Tourism, ASEAN attracted in total about 135 million foreign visitors in 2018, up 7.6 percent compared to the previous year.
