Cambodia Cheers World Tourism Day

Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has marked the 2021 World Tourism Day under the theme “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”.
The event took place on Sept. 27 in a hybrid format under the presidency of H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, and some 350 officials from the ministry and concerned government institutions, representatives from tourism associations, universities, tourism vocational training centres, and other stakeholders.
H.E. Thong Khon expressed his support for the recommendation of the Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen to restore Cambodia’s tourism and social economic sector being affected by COVID-19 crisis.
The strategic recommendations include vaccination-driven and safe tourism, tourism product diversification, digital tourism, tourism promotion, human resource development, and domestic tourism.
The minister also echoed the messages by H.E. Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General and H.E. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO to cheer the 2021 World Tourism Day, reflecting tourism in the global priorities and inclusive tourism.
