Cambodian and Chinese anti-illicit drug authorities hold their 11th bilateral meeting on counter-narcotics cooperation.

General Meas Virith, Secretary General of Cambodia’s National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD), and H.E. Lan Feihong, Deputy Secretary General of the National Narcotics Control Commission of the People’s Republic of China co-chaired the meeting on July 15 in Phnom Penh.

The two sides revisited measures to prevent and crack down on drug offences and production, as well as outreach activities to rehabilitate and educate victims of illicit drugs.

General Meas Virith highly valued the enhanced cooperation between Cambodia and China on drug control, thanking the Chinese counterpart for technical and capacity-building support for Cambodia.

H.E. Lan Feihong emphasised that the bilateral cooperation has led to crackdowns on many cross-border drug cases in 2023.
