Cambodia, China Sign US$26 Million Worth Cooperation Agreement

Cambodia and China have reached an agreement worth US$26 million for three development projects in Cambodia, according to local media report.

The exchange of notes was signed between H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Mr. Deng Boqing, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) recently in Beijing, China.

The three projects include the renovation of the Council of Ministers' Friendship Building, technical cooperation on technological building of the Council of Ministers, and supply of scanning machines to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.

On the occasion, both sides also discussed about bilateral financing collaboration and new cooperation directions between Cambodia and China in all sectors.

Since 2001, China has provided US$6 billion as financing cooperation to Cambodia, including US$4.4 billion as loans, and US$1.6 as grant assistance and interest-free loans.
