Cambodia, China Strengthen Cooperation on Labour Sector

A high-level Cambodian delegation of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training led by its Minister H.E. Ith Samheng has been on a visit in Nanjing city of Jiangsu province, the People's Republic of China.

Early this week, the delegation met with Mr. Jian Chen, Deputy Director of Human Resources and Social Security Department of Nanning city. On the occasion, both sides agreed to further strengthen the relations and exchange of experience in the field of labour between the two countries.

On the occasion, Mr. Jian Chen briefed H.E. Ith Samheng on his department's tasks of defending workers' interests and providing them with technical and vocational training in response to the labour market demand.

For his part, H.E. Ith Samheng spoke highly of the long-lasting relationship between Cambodia and China and recalled the key contribution of the Chinese government to Cambodia's development in all sectors, especially in economy and human resource training.

Chinese companies from Jiangsu province have established a special economic zone in Preah Sihanouk province, where there are now over 100 factories employing about 20,000 workers, said H.E. Minister, adding that a Cambodia-China Friendship Technical and Vocational Training Centre was created and the construction is expected to finish soon.

H.E. Ith Samheng also invited a Chinese delegation from Human Resources and Social Security Department to visit Cambodia to exchange their experience and booth their relations.
