Cambodia, China to Enhance Bilateral Friendship

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to enhance more cooperation, especially the iron-clad friendship with China.
Addressing the handover ceremony of China-funded Morodok Techo National Stadium here this afternoon, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said this is a new achievement resulting from the iron-clad friendship between the two countries.
“Before, we could not imagine that Cambodia would have such a large stadium here, but China helps make it happen for us,” he underlined. “This is the fruit of the Cambodian-Chinese iron-clad friendship.”
“We want people to see the value of friendship between Cambodia and China. Today is the pride of the whole Cambodian nation with the help of our friend [China],” he said.
The Cambodian Premier explained that to him, iron-clad friendship means political mutual trust despite pressures from outsiders, under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also highlighted the role of China in physical infrastructure development in the Kingdom, especially the construction of roads and bridges across the country, as well as in providing, through donations and purchase, vaccines against COVID-19 for Cambodia.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction kept going and was completed to serve the sports sector in Cambodia, said visiting Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Wang Yi, stressing that China and Cambodia will continue to cooperate and to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
