Cambodia Earned US$4.3 Billion from Tourism in 2018

Cambodia earns around US$4.3 billion as revenue from tourism industry in 2018, up from 3.6 million a year earlier, according to figures from Ministry of Tourism.

Speaking at the National Clean City Day held recently in Phnom Penh, H.E. Thong Khon, Tourism Minister noted that with increasing trend of foreign tourists to Cambodia, the country is positive that the sector will contribute vitally to the national economy.

In 2018, we welcomed 6.2 million international tourists, and in 2020 we are confident to receive about 7 million, which will allow the national revenue of about US$5 billion, said the minister.

H.E. Thong Khon took the opportunity to call on relevant stakeholders to join hands to further strengthen quality tourism services and promote potential tourism products.

Chinese tourists outnumbered the rest with 2 million visitors in Cambodia's tourism market in 2018.
