Cambodia Earns Gold Medals for Wrestling in Thailand

Cambodian athletes have earned seven medals including 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze from the Beach Wrestling Championships in Thailand.

The competition took place from June 11 to 18 at Uttaradit province, with the participation of wrestlers from Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore.

The Cambodian medalists belong to the teams aged under 15 and 20 years old, and U-15 team won one gold and one bronze medal, while the U-20 team earned 2 gold and 3 silver medals.

According to Mr. Casey Barnett, Vice President of Wrestling Federation of Cambodia (WFC), the competition is a good opportunity for Cambodian athletes to get new experience and develop their capacity for the SEA Games 2023 that Cambodia will host.

He also spoke highly of the effort of the Cambodian wrestlers to succeed in the tournament.
