Cambodia Earns US$3,400 Million from Tourism in 2016

Cambodia earned some US$3,400 million from tourism sector with the arrival of over 5 million tourists in 2016.

The figure was shared by Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon at the opening ceremony of the 1st National Forum on Eco-Business for Tourism at Phnom Penh Hotel yesterday afternoon.

H.E. Minister, also President of National Committee for Clean City Assessment, explained the increase in the number of foreign visitors to Cambodia’s clear policy to attract them to visit the country again and again, along with full peace, an indispensable factor to provide confidence for tourists and investors.

According to H.E. Thong Khon, Cambodia is expected to attract about 5,4 million foreign tourists this year and the figure would reach 7 million in 2020, bringing a total revenue of around US$5 billion and generating some 1 million direct jobs.
