Cambodia Earns US$62.5 million from Angkor Ticket Sales in 2016

The famous Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province, a UNESCO's World Heritage Site, generated a total revenue of US$62.5 million from entrance ticket sales, from January to December 2016, up 4.2 percent compared to the previous year.

According to a press release of the Angkor Enterprise, the state-owned agency in charge of Angkor income management, the entrance tickets were sold out to 2,197,254 foreign tourists last year, an increase by 4.6 percent over 2015.

In December alone, 249,482 tourists visited the Angkor temples, up 12.08 percent, generating revenue from Angkor ticket sales of US$7,161,300, up 10.22 percent compared to a month earlier.
