Cambodia Expects to Welcome More Than 5 Million Foreign Visitors in 2016

Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon has recently projected that the total number of foreign arrivals to Cambodia in 2016 would see an increase between 5 to 6 percent compared to a year earlier.

In an interview with a local newspaper last week, H.E. Thong Khon said we hoped that Cambodia received over 5 million foreign visitors in 2016.

This year, if there are more direct flights from different destinations, we expect an increase between 7 to 8 percent compared to 2016, he underlined.

Cambodia is committed to attract some 7 million foreign arrivals by 2020, of them 2 million are Chinese, underlined the minister.

In 2015, about 4.5 million international tourists visited Cambodia, of whom around 800,000 are Chinese, making China the 2nd biggest tourism market for Cambodia, after Vietnam.
