Cambodia Exports Over 10,000 Tons of Fish Products in First 11 Months

Cambodia’s export of fish products, both freshwater and marine fish was amounted to more than 12,000 tons during the January-November period, said a monthly report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

On the overall, the export of Cambodia’s fish saw a decrease in the first 11 months of 2016 compared with the same period last year, despite the increase in the yield of inland and marine fish, it added.

According to the report, the yield of freshwater fish rose by 13,200 tons to 61,700 tons, while that of marine fish increased by 1,125 tons to 10,025 tons.

However, the export figures showed a decrease in the same period, with only 8,200 tons of fresh fish products, down 300 tons, and only 4,600 tons of processed fish products were exported, down 100 tons compared to the first 11 months of 2015.

The revenue from the industry stood at 2,011,060,979 Riel, Cambodian currently roughly US$500,000.
